Su Casa Portraits is the creation of Sue Hudelson. With a background in editorial photography, some of Sue's magazine assignments are to photograph subjects in their home environment. Her curiosity about seeing people where they dwell grew and is what inspired her to start Su Casa Portraits. It's a way to photograph strangers without them feeling out of place - and hopefully find that authentic moment when the subject feels free to let his or her guard down.
Sue's diverse experience in photography covers fine art, fashion, food, documentary, lifestyle, product, and portraiture. Her passion for composing images that pull the viewer in stems from her love of observation, finding new perspectives, cinematic inspirations, an off-beat sense of humor, and a desire to connect with her subject. She doesn't always aim to grab shots of people looking in the camera smiling, but instead, she aims to capture the moments when the subject becomes unaware of the camera or when they're connecting with her. There's a visible difference when someone is looking at the camera and when someone is looking at the person taking the image. Inject a little art direction from her sense of play and irony for unique portraits that you'll love to share for a lifetime.

Early on, Sue knew which side of the camera she preferred to be on.
